Key Stats:

2017 Offensive Outlook: We will look to have a balanced attack this season as our QB Kohl Bernarding now has experience and a nice arm.  We also have a nice mix of kids that can run the ball up the gut and to the perimeter.  Our goal as an offensive unit is to be hard for defenses to plan for as we will be in multiple sets.  We are thin at the skill positions and will need some of our younger guys to step up and learn quickly.  We did however have many guys emerge this spring that will be looking to start.  JR 6’4 TE Cale Miller, JR WR Nick Slawson, JR WR Franklin Morris SO RB Avery Lintz, and JR RB Garrett Long will likely all see significant playing time for this young unit.     We are deep, strong, and experienced on our offensive line which will help immensely. JR and SR Justin and Jackson Adams (OL) will be competing to fill the void that was left by Tyler Freyermuth graduating.  Dalton Boozer has a big frame also looks to see significant playing time on the O-Line.

2017 Defensive Outlook: We will need to replace our starting two cornerbacks from last season . We will also need to replace All-Conference LB Blake Miller.  We will be simple and fast on defense expecting our kids to come down hill and attack rather. SR Keian Russell eclipsed the 1000 pound club this winter and will anchor a strong Defensive line.  Alex Suder is an All-Conference returning starter on the line and Kenny Custead hits like a truck from the LB position.  We have a nice LB core and will have many capable DB’s that will compete for two starting CB spots.

2017 Special Teams Outlook: Coach Don King comes up from Mercer to handle all Special Teams responsibilities which will be big for us with his experience.  We have a placekicking spot open that will decided in camp.  Curtis Freymuth returns as punter.
