Key Stats:

2017 Offensive Outlook: We have a ton of skill to replace. We will rely on our guys up front and a powerful running game until we fins some guys that can catch the ball.  We feel that we have a strong group of linemen returning. Our JV team was successful and we hope those players can replace the great players that we graduated.

2017 Defensive Outlook: Smith and Kurtz are hard nosed linebackers that will be the key to our defense. Garner will lead the d line along with a host of others. We must find some defensive backs. We need to develop the defensive perimeter players and the secondary to have a good defense.

2017 Special Teams Outlook: We think that Preston Karstetter can replace the punter and Kicker from last year.

    Sure, Billy.

I can give a recap of each game.

    Glad to share the news.

good analysis, I will disagree on top matchup…Mt Union vs Huntingdon gets that billing….if you ‘d like to write about the dragons every week please let me know…we would like to have their games covered and on the site

Positive first scrimmage against Bellwood Antis. Central flexed its muscle against a solid BA team that should win 8 or 9 games in the ICC. Central showed many weapons on offense behind a big offensive line.

The center position will be critical in replacing All State Trevor Miller who is furthering his education and football career at Lock Haven University.

Austin Garner and Jared Smith both stand out physically for the Scarlet Dragons. Players to watch early on are RB Tristan Detwiler, LB Benjamin Kurtz, DE Luke McConahy, QB Noah Muthler, WR Brady Bolatto, G Brandon Mock, RB Ian Detterline…and a host of supporting players.

As this team gains experience and avoids the injury bug, look for a repeat of the D6 AAA title and advancement in the Western playoffs.

Foreign exchange kicker adds a weapon with XPs and athlete Preston Karstetter adds big time game experience in football, basketball, and baseball. He is nursing a sore arm but contributed immediately at the wideout postion and also special teams.

Big, big opener this Friday at Hollidaysburg. Weather permitting, should tally the fans in the multiple of thousands attending.

You have to love high school football and this time of expectations for your local team. Dragon nation is alive and well and will follow this team each week in droves. Would not be surprised to see Central top the Golden Tigers in the second set of a 2 game series if they can control the ball and let the physical line play flex its muscle against the larger school of Hollidaysburg. Howells twins will be a force on the line as well as Dellinger at the LB position. Will probably see both teams try to pressure the Jr QBs and try to force the action. Patrick Young a solid half back for Hburg and kicker from Hburg is outstanding.

Watch out for Detwiler from Central. Very, very explosive with the ball and also a lock down defender at the CB position.

Outside of the Backyard Brawl of Tyrone and Bellwood, this has to be the marquee matchup of week 1 in d6. Cant wait for Friday night lights.

2017 Central Dragons may surprise some folks in western Pa. First 3 weeks will be a big test with Hollidaysburg, Tyrone, and Clearfield.

Very good size up front and deep senior class. If leadership develops, this team could be a factor come playoff time. Tremendous coaching staff will give this team the best chance to win. Also, winning tradition will continue as many kids on team have tasted the winning KoolAid. Tastes very, very good.
