Key Stats: Colts averaged 320 yds. per game on offense last year. 170-Pass 150-Rush (per game). However the Colts averaged 3 turnovers per game which hurt their production on both sides of the ball. Barrett is the returning scoring leader with 6 touchdowns last season.
2018 Offensive Outlook: The Colts will return four OL that have starting experience. Barrett finished last season as the Colt feature RB and will continue that role this year. JT Allen, Thomas Heckroth, Troy Donofrio, and Caleb Nelson will lead the colts WR core. Curran, Lang, Davis, and Krause will bring experience to the offensive front with a few new Colts adding depth and athleticism. Nathan Kraemer, Hunter Richie, Chase Bruggeman, and Seth Bauman give the Colts an opportunity to be a good offensive front. The Colts must reduce turnovers from last season to reach their full potential.
2018 Defensive Outlook: The Colts return their whole defensive front which gained experience as a young group during the 2017 season. Banas will move from DE to ILB and Barrett returns as a leader in the LB core. Donofrio returns to lead the secondary with new starter Thomas Heckroth at one of the corners. JT Allen returns as a safety. There are 3 or 4 guys competing for the corner spot. OLBs will have new starter, but Ty Thomas will lead that core after missing last season due to injury. The Colts will look to be a more aggressive unit to cause more turnovers than they did during the 2017 season.
2018 Special Teams Outlook: Heckroth, Barrett, and Allen will be vital in the return game. The Colts will rely on young athletic underclassmen to help lead an aggressive special teams unit.
