Sto-Rox QB Paul Jones Likely to Play Tonight

Sto-Rox Quarterback and Penn State recruit Paul Jones, might be taking the field for the first time this season on Friday night in Sewickley vs. the Quakers of Quaker Valley (0-2).
Jones has battled a broken left ankle, that he suffered while playing a pick up game of basketball back in July.
Sto-Rox coach Jason Ruscitto said Jones chance of playing tonight is good, if not a guarantee. When asked if his chances of returning to the starting line-up were 50-50, Ruscitto responed with.
“No, I would go higher then that I’d say 70-30”
Jones will make a trip to the doctors this morning, to see if he would be clear to play.
In the Vikings (2-0) start, sophomore quarterback Jordan Latimer has been under center. Latimer has done quite well completing 22 of 39 passes for 432 yards (fourth best in the WPIAL) and four touchdowns.
The real question isn’t will Paul Jones play, but does he need to? Quaker Valley has dropped their first two games by a combined total of 79-24, in losses to Bishop Canevin (L-38-12) and South Fayette (L-42-12).
With Latimer on a roll after two weeks of play, would it be smart to let Jones sit out one more week and have him ready for big games between, South Fayette (9/25) and Seaton LaSalle (10/1) right around the corner? That question will be answered at Quaker Valley High School, around 7:30pm tonight.
