Clairton blanks Carmichael, 42-0

The number one ranked team in Class A showed no mercy in a 42-0 win over Carmichael to open the WPIAL first round playoffs Friday night at Neil C. Brown Stadium.
Clairton’s defense recorded its seventh shutout in 10 games. They allowed only four first downs and 54 total yards of offense.
Clairton who has the number one offense in Western PA scored on six of its first seven possessions. The Bears scored five times and took a commanding 36-0 lead at halftime.
In the first quarter quarterback Desimon Green scored on a 46-yard run and he threw a touchdown pass to Josh Page for 39-yards.
Green led the way with over 200 of the team’s 400 yards of total offense. Green had 97 yards rushing and 113 yards passing on four of six passing.
Clairton added to their lead by scoring 22 points in the second quarter. Brandon Small scored on a four-yard run and Trenton Coles scored on a 26-yard run. Neal scored on the two-point conversion.
Green would finish off the scoring in the first half with a 50-yard bomb to Tyler Boyd.
Thompson got the only score in the second half on a 40-yard run for the score.
The Bears will take on Bishop Canevin next week in the second round at a time and location to be determined later. Bishop Canevin won over Fort Cherry, 14-6.
