2016 Offensive outlook: (Please let us know the keys about your team on offense. What are your keys to having a successful year?)
Balance. We have had success running the football, we need to continue to improve our passing game. To beat good people you have to be balanced, people will load up and pressure our running game. We need to be able to throw them out of that way of thinking.
New Players Contributions. 2015 Back-up QB Jordan Castelli sat and watched behind record-breaking senior, Dom Eannace. He has all of the tools and is the favorite to start going into camp. He has a strong arm and needs to couple that with quality decision making. The development of players like Sr. Nathaniel Taylor C/G, Jr. Lennie Corton WR, Sr. Josh Clopp DB, and Jr. Anthony Sacco FB/LB along with the ability of some sophmores to step up.
2016 Defensive Outlook: (Please let us know the keys about your team on defense. What are your keys to having a successful year?)
The Defensive Staff is entirely new this season. We are looking for a new level of energy and understanding from our players.
Keys would include solidifying a defensive line unit that has 1 returning starter, we really need our defensive front to occupy and understand their role.
Our number one goal defensively will always be to stop the run.
All great defenses do two things well: They get off blocks and they tackle well – No matter the scheme. This is what we need to do. These are keys for any defense.
2016 Special Teams Outlook: (Please let us know the keys about your team on special teams. What are your keys to having a successful year?)
We have a few kids who have returned kicks but we have lost our Punter, Kicker, Long-Snapper, and main Punt-Returner. These are huge losses – we will spend a lot of time finding replacements and getting this part of our game secure.
Our kickoff was very poor, our defense was playing Arena ball most of the year. Our average starting field position offensively wasnt great either. We have to do a better job. We were however excited about our Punt game but alot of that had to do with the Punter who is now gone.
