Skipping The Sidelines With Coach Tobias

Tobias on Pre-Season Camp

“Camp has gone really well for us,” said Tobias. “Our seniors have done a good job of leading by example and the kids are on pace with the way we need to practice to win games. We talk about every play, every day and when you are on the grass, hit the gas and those are the guys who are reminding their teammates of the right things to do, encouraging them and bringing them along.”

“I felt good about the way we came out and played in our scrimmages,” said Tobias. “Scheme-wise we had a couple of mental lapses when we blocked the wrong person and a couple of times we jumped (early) and we put one ball on the ground but those are things that we can clean up. Little things like that and paying attention to detail are things we have to concentrate on to make sure that we have everything buttoned up going into the season.”

Numbers, attitude and conditioning

“We have 45 kids out and they came back in great shape, Tobias said. “So far they have done a great job of doing what we asked them to do and we are having some fun.”
