Beaver Falls holds off Aliquippa’s rally attempt to win 3A Championship

Beaver Falls  wins WPIAL 3A Championship

Beaver Falls got the ball first and did nothing on that drive. After a Aliquippa fumble, Austin French found Derrell Carter for a 50 yard touchdown.

Beaver Falls would extends its lead later in the quarter when Malik Shepard found Amen Cottrill for a 4 yard touchdown.

Aliquippa had the ball to start the second quarter it was a long drive that lasted 5:37 and was 12 plays but resulted in zero points. Beaver Falls led at half 14-0.

Aliquippa scored on its first drive in the second half. Avante McKenzie scored from 31 yards out.

Later in the quarter Beaver Falls extended the lead to 21-6 on a 3 yard run by Torian Leak. That was the score at the end of 3.

Beaver Falls made it 28-6 with 3:36 left which appeared to wrap it up. Aliquippa made it interesting scoring with 2:26 left on a Kwantel Raines pass to Deoveon Crute making it 28-14.

Aliquippa recovered the onside kick and had the ball at the Beaver Falls 33. A few plays later Tyriq Jones scored on a 7 yard run and a 2 point conversion made it 28-22 with 1:34 left.

That would be the last time the Quips scored. Beaver Falls added the exclamation point to make the final 35-22.

Derrell Carter had a big game, he had 140 yards on 14 carries he also had 1 catch for 50 yards, for 2 total touchdowns. Torian Leak had 2 touchdowns for Beaver Falls.
