BIG 33 All-Star Game: Rosters Announced

Written by: on Monday, January 12th, 2009

The Big 33 All-Star Game has released the roster for the Pennsylvania team for the classic showdown of Ohio and Pennsylvania. The game started back in 1958 and the 51st edditon is slated for June 20th at Hersheypark Stadium.

There has not been one Supper Bowl without someone who played in the Big 33 Classic, dating all the way back to Joe Montana days. Another note for this years game is that the WPIAL (district 7) will be sending only 5 players which is the fewest in the history of the Big 33, after having 17 on the roster last year. The fewest district 7 has sent before this year is 7 back in 2000.

Don’t forget that NCAA rules only allow high school players to play in two all-star games therefore making them ineligible to play in a third.
