WesternPAFootball.net small school player of the year Deontae Howard, will continue his career at Robert Morris University in Moon Township just outside of Pittsburgh.
Howard should make a direct impact to the Colonials right from the start, a team that had it’s worst season in school history last year. The school has had one coach in that history, Joe Walton who is the only college football coach to coach in a stadium named after himself. Look for Howard to shine bright at RMU in their first season with lights.
Howard ran for 2,234 yards and scored more than 30 touchdowns in the 2009 season. The Clairton star also lead the Bears to their first PIAA State Championship in school history running for 150 yards and a touchdown to help Clairton stifle Bishop McCort.
Deontae also established a new single-season school record for rushing yards in a season, surpassing Dana Brown’s mark set only a few years previous. Howard finished his Clairton career with over 4,415 career rushing yards, breaking the previous mark held by Zaire Washington.
