Clearfield QB Issac Rumery has committed to Penn State

Written by: on Wednesday, October 3rd, 2018

It was a year ago during the CPFCA combine I asked Isaac Rumery a question. “If you could play anywhere, what’s your dream school?” He said “first, I’m Isaac, not Christian.” See, I’d called him Christian in a tweet just days before. (His brother was a prolific linebacker at Clearfield and I’d typed his name somewhere around 1000 times.) He then said “I want to play at Penn State”.   At the time he was coming off his sophomore year and threw for a respectable 1,900 yards. One year later he threw for over 2,600 yards and 33 tds. To date, he’s thrown for 5,900 yards and 66 tds.

Talking to him before he attended the Blue/White game this year, Isaac was excited. “I was told I’m next on their list”, said the 6-1, 205 senior who thus far this season is on pace to at least match his 2017 total. Turns out he WAS at the top of their list and received a PWO in September to play for/attend Penn State.

Tonight, his dream came true and he committed to play for Penn State. He announced via twitter:

We caught up with Isaac and asked him about his decision:

WPA: why did you choose the Nittany lions?

Issac: I chose PSU because it felt like the best environment for me have success on and off the field.

WPA: who was your biggest influence at PSU, who recruited you?

Issac: My biggest influence was Coach Rahne, as he recruited me I felt we had a good connection

WPA: what do your parents think of your decision?

Issac: My parents and family as a whole stand behind my decision and support me 100%

WPA: what are they getting in player like you? They are getting someone who will work their tail off day in and day out for the team, not just my own success

WPA: what position will you play?

Issac: Quarterback

WPA: why commit early?

Issac: I chose to commit early because I will be early enrolling in the spring semester

WPA: what was the recruiting process like for you?

Issac: The recruiting process for me was a lot of ups and downs but I put my faith in God and I couldn’t be happier the way it turned out

WPA: Do you know what you’d like to study?

Issac: I’d like to study business

WPA: What do you think is the most exciting thing about PSU?

Issac: I think the most exciting thing is the athletes coming up, with the greatest fanbase in the country and the greatest athletes in the country, idk how you wouldn’t want to be there

WPA: How will this affect your play for your senior season?

Issac: This will only make me play harder and better, as I know have to rep Penn State University
