District 10 Region 7 was looked at as perhaps the most intriguing in all of D-10 at the start of the season, and through three weeks, there has been nothing that would suggest any different.
Tonight, Oil City (3-0 overall, 2-0 Region 7) travels to General McLane (2-1, 2-0) in a game that could go along way toward determining the Region 7 champion and top seed in the Class 5A playoffs.
After an opening 27-14 loss to a very good Slippery Rock team, McLane has scored lopsided wins over DuBois and Meadville.
Oil City, meanwhile, has outscored Conneaut, Franklin and Girard a combined 160-40.
For the Oilers, it all starts with Christian Cole, one of the top statistical backs not just in District 10, but both the state and nation as well, per MaxPreps. . . more
