Another chapter in the DuBois-Punxsutawney rivalry started Friday in a light rain. It was not great weather for spectators, but Garrett Brown did not seem to mind.

Senior RB Brown made a huge stride on the first Beaver possession of the game with a 66 yard touchdown run to put the Beavers up 7-0 with 6:11 left in the first quarter. Coming off a game and two quarter suspension from an incident from week one, Brown was ready to take a big step, and he did!

Brown took the ball to the house on a 52 yard  run with 11:07 left in the second quarter. Punxsutawney put their only six points on the board with 8:47 on the clock. Brown got the ball again and took it 80 yards for a third Beaver touchdown with 8:29 left in the second. Sophomore QB Gabe French passed to Senior WR Brian Kane for 21 yards and another Beaver touchdown.

Junior Josh Hnat made a 42 yard field goal with 0:03 left in the first half. The Beavers went to their locker room with a halftime score of 31-6. The rain stopped for the most part at halftime, with a sprinkle here and there.

Brown started the second half off with a bang! He took the ball 99 yards on the opening kickoff in just 17 seconds! The fifth DuBois touchdown came with a 57 yard run by Brown with 8:05 left on the clock. In the fourth quarter, Chad O’Donnell ran the ball 45 yards for the final Beaver touchdown of the game. With a final score of 50-6, Brown had 15 carries for 296 yards. French had 9-13 passes complete for 106 yards.

DuBois is 3-0 and has two road games back to back against Oil City and Bradford, and an open date for October 5th.
