It was homecoming night at Bulldog stadium where the Freedom Bulldogs took on The South Side Rams. The game was close all the way through, but the Bulldogs got a victory over the Rams on homecoming night with a score of Freedom 21 and South Side 14.

Freedom was the first team to put points on the board. Quarterback Cole Beck threw a pass to Noah Yeck in the back of the end zone to get a six-yard touchdown. That play put Freedom up by seven after Carson Gilarno made the extra point.

The second quarter came and neither team could find their way down the field to get any points. This took the teams into halftime with Freedom 7 and South Side 0.

It was a 47-yard rush by Ross which made the score Freedom 21 and South Side 7.

With a little less than four minutes left on the clock, South Side found their way back to the end zone. Quarterback Trenton Seik connected to Jake McDougal who ran the ball 57-yards down the field to score. After the score, it left South Side only trailing by 7 points.

South Side brought out their kicker, but to attempt an onside kick. The Rams were successful as they were able to recover the ball and regain possession. South Side drove back down the field to Freedom’s own 20-yard line.

With just over a minute remaining in the game and South Side on fourth down, the Rams attempted to pick up a first down or Touchdown. Michael Keith, who was earlier announced homecoming king, added to his special day by intercepting the pass on fourth down. This gave the ball back to Freedom with only 58 seconds left in the game.

Freedom ran the ball two times using up South Side’s last two timeouts. With 38 seconds left on the clock, the Bulldogs took a final snap and knee the ball securing the win over the Rams. Freedom got the win over the Rams homecoming night extending the Bulldogs’ record to 5-2.
