Gateway holds off Woodland Hills Late Rally

After a Woodland Hills punt. Gateway started at their own 31. Eventually Brady Walker connects with Courtney Jackson for a 10 yard touchdown giving Gateway a 14-0 lead with 7:25 in the first quarter.
Woodland Hills really struggled in the first half on offense and couldn’t get much going. Gateway would add a touchdown 48 seconds left before half making it 21-0.
Woodland Hills got the ball to start the second half and on third down Gateway’s Isaiah Cameron intercepts the ball. On one play Brady Walker hit Courtney Jackson for a 53 yard pass. Isaiah Cameron then ran it in making it 28-0.
On the next drive Woodland Hills got on the board on a 26 yard run Rodney Dennard. Woodland Hills would get closer on a touchdown pass to Rodney Dennard and after a safety Gateway’s lead was now down 12.
Woodland Hills got within 5 on a 5 yard by Jayquan Smith, which made the score 28-23 with 11:05 remaining in the game.
Gateway would respond on the following drive. After a big run by Brady Walker, Gateway was at the Woodland Hills 12 yard line. Eventually Isaiah Cameron scored a 1 yard touchdown, making it 35-23 with 6:24 left. That would be the last score with the final being 35-23. Gateway improves to 1-0 on the season.
Brady Walker finished with 253 passing yards. Courtney Jackson finished with 111 yards receiving and also had the 95 yard opening kickoff return. Up next Gateway hosts Latrobe in a Big East conference game.
