Johnson Motors presents: PROTIME PREDICTIONS by Phil

Written by: on Thursday, September 20th, 2018

Not too long ago, Protime had a dream.  No, it was actually a nightmare.  Protime dreamt he was being chased by a 6’ 9” 400 lb. irate lineman.  As fast as Protime was running for his life, the big guy was gaining on him.  At the exact moment the giant reached out to grab Protime, Mrs. Protime shook Protime to try to calm him down because he had been restless and mumbling incoherent sounds.

When Mrs. ‘P’ touched him, Protime’s dream took on an even more realistic sensation, as that is precisely when the lineman caught up to him and they started to fall to the ground, causing Protime to scream because he was about to be squished.  A little later, after coming to his senses, Protime heard a hard knock on the door.  When he answered it, a couple of mean looking police officers were standing there.  They wanted to know what the commotion was about because a neighbor had heard Protime’s screams and called 9-1-1.

Protime went 20-5 for the fourth week of the season to put him at 79-21 for the year (.790).  The only yelling that Protime will be doing this week will be if most of his predictions don’t come to fruition.  One side note, follow Protime on twitter @PbmSr.  And now on with the Dramatic Discerner’s divinations.

Ridgway 4-0 @ Brockway 4-0 – Protime’s game of the week!  The Elkers appear to be very strong again.  The Rovers always have good teams.  Elker Paul Gresco will be behind the center and has 550 yards with 6 scores passing.  Jake Wickett is just one of many backs that Coach Heindl uses.  He has tallied 6 touchdowns.  Evan Furlong and Robert Briggs continue to punish opposing ball carriers for Ridgway.  The Rovers are led by Peter Downer, who barks the signals.  Peter threw for 3 TDs last week and ran for another.  Tyler Serafini had over 100 yards rushing too.  But the Elkers have to be aware of Jon Wood because he is a threat to score anytime.  He scored on two kickoff returns in one game earlier this year.  Kicker Zane Puhala gives Brockway an added weapon.  A simple coin flip gives the nod to Ridgway, 20-17.

Bellefonte 4-0 @ Tyrone 4-0 – Bellefonte’s offense is led by QB Kyle Myers (5 TD passes) and RB CJ Funk (516 yards & 9 TDs).  Caleb Rockey and Ethan Rossman anchor a strong Red Raider defense.  Denver Light quarterbacks the Golden Eagles and can be dangerous as evidenced by his 659 yards and 8 TD tosses.  RB Zac Albright carried the pigskin for 497 yards thus far.  Light and Noah Zimmerman head up the Tyrone ‘D’.  Look for a defensive game and look for the Red Raiders to bring home the ‘W’, 10-9.

Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic 4-0 @ Derry 4-0 – Hey, we have the battle of the Trojans going on here.  QB Zack Rocco heads the North Catholic charge into Derryland.  He has 826 yards passing to go along with 12 TD tosses.  CWNC’s premier receivers are Nikhai Hill-Green and Tyree Brown.  Both have caught 4 touchdown passes.  Derry is led by Justin Flack who has scored 8 times this year, including 5 last week (3 runs & 2 pass catches).  Teams must be careful to not underestimate QB Paul Koontz who also had a nice game last week for Derry.  Protime envisions the final to be CWNC 14 Derry 7.

Aliquippa 4-0 @ Beaver Falls 4-0 – The Quips are poised for a deep run in the playoffs.  The have outscored their opposition 224-6 to date!  Signal caller Eli Kosanovich has 693 yards passing with 14 TDs.  His favorite mark is William Gipson who has 5 TD receptions.  Avante McKenzie has zipped into the end zone 7 times.  The Tigers average 39 points/game.  Amen Cottrill has scored 7 touchdowns, while Josh Hough chimes in with 5.  The Quips are on a mission this year.  They win 36-22.

McGuffey 4-0 @ Bethlehem-Center 4-0 – The Highlanders are riding high this year especially because of Christian Clutter’s 9 TDs.  Beth-Center has a good one in QB Bailey Lincoski.  Bailey has thrown for 566 yards and 4 scores, plus he has rushed for 383 and 10 more goal line crossings.  Devin Dingle is his main target.  RB Dom Fundy has raced for 659 yards and 5 TDs on the ground.  Jacob Baker heads up a pretty tough Bulldog ‘D’.  Protime gazed into the crystal ball for this one and the story is McGuffey 18 and Beth-Center 14.

Burgettstown 3-0 @ South Side 4-0 – Note this is the 6th game in a row pitting undefeated teams against each other.  Burgetts is more of a running team and are led by QB Jake Lounder and RB Shane Kemper.  Ethan Brothers is the main Blue Devil on defense.  The South Side Rams don’t throw much either.  RB Jake Botkin has skedaddled for 834 yards and 10 touchdowns.  Derek Franchek has 6 TDs.  Nick Myak is the top tackler for the Rams.  Protime flipped a coin for this interesting match-up and the Blue Devils will edge South Side 15-10.

Mercyhurst Prep 4-0 @ Harbor Creek 3-1 – The Lakers have two runners who can run circles around defenses.  Khalil Barnes has traversed for 622 yards and 5 scores.  Zack Helsley has chipped in with 538 yards and 9 TDs.  Harbor Creek is led by QB Casey Smith with 5 TD passes and RB Tyler East.  The Huskies put up a fight for a while, but fall to Mercyhurst 27-17.

Grove City 4-0 @ Slippery Rock 3-1 – Brady Callahan is 45 of 55 passing for Grove City.  That translates into 651 yards and 8 TDs.  WR Logan Lutz has 336 of those yards and 4 TDs.  RB Tyler Greer has rambled for 459 yards and 7 scores for the Eagles.  Seth Davis is the leading tackler.  For the Rockets, RB Kaleb Kamerer scored 6 touchdowns to date, QB Vito Pilosi warrants attention, and Jacob Shaffer is the (Rocket) man on defense.  It’ll be the Eagles flying out with the victory over the Rockets, 38-34.

Otto-Eldred 3-1 @ Smethport 4-0 – Terror QB Cole Sebastian has 793 yards with 11 touchdowns throwing the agate.  Cameron Magee had a pick six and a kickoff return for a TD last week.  Chris Connelly heads up the O-E defense.  The Hubbers’ Blake Kinner rushed for 171 yards and a TD on only 13 carries last week.  The tandem of QB Grant Ognen and WR Braedon Johnson are dangerous.  This is a key D-9 Small School North contest.  A coin flip reveals Smethport winning 20-16.

Maplewood 3-1 @ Reynolds 3-1 – The Tigers have a fine-tuned half back in Chevy Blake, who has scored 5 TDs.  Quarterback, JD McFadden has thrown for 571 yards and 10 TDs.  His top receivers are Jesse McFadden and Camron Bienio.  Jesse and Chevy headline Maplewood’s defense too.  Reynolds has RB Jordan Decarmen, who’s rushed for 460 yards and 7 scores.  Tyrese Baker and QB Sean O’Hara have combined for another 637 yards on the ground and 9 touchdowns.  The Reynolds Raiders win this close game by a score of 26-25.

Portage 3-1 @ Shade 4-0 – The Mustangs come prancing into Cairnbrook, PA hoping to knock Shade from the ranks of the unbeaten.  RB Cole Sossong has galloped for 468 yards and 5 TDs, while QB Connor Price has accounted for 7 scores on the ground.  Ian Thrower leads the Mustang defense.  For Shade’s Panthers, Brady Fyfe makes the offense go with his 1,121 yards passing and 533 yards running.  Brady has thrown for 14 touchdowns and run for 6 more.  Dawson Snyder is the main recipient of his passes with 433 yards and 6 tallies.  Austin Mauger runs down the most ball carriers for the Panthers.  The crystal ball says take Shade, 34-32.

Bald Eagle Area 4-0 @ Central 1-3 – BEA has a good one in QB Jaden Jones.  He has amassed 1,172 yards passing and has tossed 13 TD passes, including a 99-yarder.  Gage McClenahan is the leading Bald Eagle receiver.  BEA’s defense has Kael Gardner as their top tackler.  The Scarlet Dragons are having an off year so far, but are looking to turn things around.  QB Braden Kitt filled in nicely last week for Noah Muthler.  Ben Kutz is a fire-breathing Dragon on defense.  Is this Bald Eagle’s year?  Protime says the game belongs to them, 35-27.
