Johnson Motors presents: PROTIME PREDICTIONS by Phil
Written by: Phil Myers on Thursday, October 4th, 2018
Protime just had another brilliant idea. He, with the help of the good Mrs. P, is going to start a small restaurant that specializes in a variety of odd food combinations that actually are healthy for the most part. Protime decided he’d call the place, ‘Protime’s Savory Grub Combos’.
Here’s a sample of the menu: Salads include watermelon & onions or a waldorf with chicken, mushrooms, and mango. Some entrees are roast beef with a mayo and salsa glaze, peanut butter turkey, and scrambled eggs with green beans & raisins. Sandwich delicacies include pineapple and sweet relish or a toasted cheeser with apple rings.
For dessert one could choose from prune pie, chocolate jello, or grape jelly and rice. Drinks include root beer and milk, cream soda and orange juice, or pickle juice tea. Oh, the possibilities!
Speaking of possibilities, they are a lot of good games this week with a plethora of possible victor combinations. Protime went 19-6 last time and now sits at 119-31 for the year or 79.3%. Hold on to your helmits, here’s this week’s picks by the Fabled Forecaster.
Gateway 6-0 @ Franklin Regional 5-0 – Two of the state’s top five teams in 5A are going to tangle. Brendan Majocha is under center for the Gators and has amassed 964 yards and 13 touchdowns to date. RB Derrick Davis and WR Courtney Jackson are Gateway’s other two offensive stars. The Panthers’ Adam Rudzinski has thrown for 876 yards and 12 TDs in 2018. His two top targets are Nick Leopold and Mike Evans who have 691 yards and 11 pass catching touchdowns between them. Gateway retains its #1 ranking with a 28-17 triumph.
Erie McDowell 4-2 @ Erie Cathedral Prep 4-2 – Up in the northwest two perennial powers will slug it out. Soph. QB Chris Juchno orchestrates the Trojan ‘O’. He has thrown for 999 yards and 9 scores. Dom Ferraro is a dangerous half back who’s scored 8 times. With 84 tackles (13 for losses), Sebastien Moubarak is one of the premier tacklers in PA. The Ramblers have been using two QBs with Collin Johnson having higher numbers (577 yds-9 TDs). RB Billy Lucas has rushed for 829 yards with 10 tallies. Jaheim Williams heads up the Prep ‘D’. Protime has Cathedral Prep getting better and peaking come playoff time. They win 27-17.
Ridgway 6-0 @ Clarion 6-0 – Here is the hot ticket in D-9. Paul Gresco has pitched the pigskin for 724 yards & 9 TDs for the Elkers. Evan Furlong and Robert Briggs continue to anchor Ridgway’s defense. As both teams run the ball by committee, QB Archer Mills headlines the Bobcat offense. He has 840 yards and 13 TDs tossing the ball. WR Sam Minich has 25 catches for 495 yards and 10 goal line crossings. Minich and Camden Boggess clean up for Clarion’s defense. Protime consulted the crystal ball for this one and gives the edge to the Bobcats 14-7.
Imani Christian Academy 5-1 @ Clairton 5-0 – First of two great battles for D-7 single A supremacy. Imani has Israel Reed slinging the ball around to the tune of 1524 yards and 18 TDs. WR Rahmon Hart, Jr. has hauled in 35 passes for 801 yards and 11 TDs. Juaron Thompson is tops in tackles for the Saints. Clairton has capable QB Brenden Parsons, elusive WR Kenlein Oggletree, and tough Traevon Thompson at RB. Protime flipped a coin and Da Bears are victorious 26-22.
Our Lady of the Sacred Heart 6-0 @ Jeannette 6-0 – The second of two great games battling for supremacy in D-7’s single A division. Quarterback Tyler Bradley has been lights out so far with his 1,780 yards passing and 24 touchdowns. Wideouts Andrew Schnarre (447 yds-5 scores) and Rico Tate (433-6 tallies) are statistically Bradley’s favorite marks. Jeannette’s Seth Howard is doing well by throwing for 711 yards and 11 scores. Marcus Barnes has caught 7 of those TD passes. Another coin flip gives this one to the OLSH Chargers over the Jayhawks by a score of 23-22.
Sharon 4-2 @ Grove City 6-0 – This contest will go a long way in playoff seeding for the District 10 AAA classification. Sharon’s quarterback is Lane Voytik who’s rifled the ball for 1,376 yards and 13 scores. CJ Parchman has grabbed 34 of Lane’s completions for 551 yards and 5 TDs. RB Jourdan Wilson leads the Tiger ground game with 789 yards and 12 touchdowns. The Eagles counter with QB Brady Callahan’s 1,196 yards and 10 TDs. His go to receiver is Logan Lutz who has caught 35 passes for 613 yards and 5 scores. RB Tyler Greer has 589 yards plus 11 TDs. Another crystal ball consultation foretells the Eagles will win, 31-26.

BG is led offensively by QB Danny Carrieri, WR Dan Potopa, and the number one tackler, Paul Liebal. Richland wins 34-17.
Chestnut Ridge 6-0 @ Bedford 5-1 – Ridge is definitely on a roll this season. Soph. QB Logan Pfister has 671 yards passing and another 348 running, accounting for 11 total scores. RB Jared McGill leads the backs with 6 TDs. Trey Maxwell stabilizes the defense. Bedford is known for its running prowess. Dylan Arnold shows the way with 680 yards and 11 tallies. Freshman Mercury Swaim and Sophomore Elijah Cook are not to be messed with on defense. Alas, Protime is picking the Chestnut Ridge Lions to beat the Bedford Bison 29-22.
Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic 5-1 @ Elizabeth-Forward 5-0 – CWNC’s quarterback, Zack Rocco has 885 yards passing with 12 TDs. His two favorite receivers are Mikhai Hill-Green and Tyree Brown. Forward’s QB, Zach Benedek can do it all. He has thrown for 6 TDs and rushed for 8 more. Protime likes E-F because they beat Derry and Derry beat North Catholic. The Warriors of Elizabeth-Forward 20 and the Trojans of North Catholic 10.

Penns Valley in a rally beats the Bellefonte Red Raiders 34-29.
Lampeter-Strasburg 4-2 @ Manheim Central 6-0 – Yes, it’s an Eastern PA contest, but it’s Protime’s game of the week as he and Mrs. P will be vacationing in sunny Lancaster. Sophomore QB Sean McTaggart heads the L-S Pioneer offense with 957 yards passing and 8 TDs. Pioneer RB Bryan McKim has 6TDs. Gabe Frederick leads the visitors’ defense. Clarion-Limestone 35 Elk County Christian 26 – With their offense on a terror (74 points last week), take the Lions over the Crusaders.
Aliquippa 42 Yough 8 – The Quips are so good they may not be challenged at all this year. The Cougars are Aliquippa’s next victim.

Beth-Center 21 East Allegheny 14 – Protime has some trepidation about going with the Bulldogs over the Wildcats.
Ligonier Valley 31 Marion Center 12 – Might be a good game for a while, but the Rams pull away from the Hornets to stay unbeaten.
Redbank Valley 20 Curwensville 14 – Another coin flipper here. RBV’s Bulldogs get the nod over Curwensville’s Golden Tide.
Tussey Mountain 34 Southern Huntingdon 33 – Anybody’s game here between two pretty good teams. Protime leans ever so slightly toward the Titans beating the Rockets.
Wilmington 41 Iroquois 12 – The Greyhounds run away from the Braves.

McKeesport 24 Indiana 14 – The Tigers take down the Indians.
