Imagine one day you woke up, and your football coach told you that all the money that supports your team is gone.  The money used to buy letters, provide meals and many more items, gone.  No money for team camps, 7v7 camps, travel to and from. Nothing.   That’s what happened to the Lakeview Sailors this year.   Through an unfortunate event (we aren’t here to report about that), the Lakeview Booster Club found itself with over a 10,000 dollar deficit. “It’s tough to take” said Sailor head coach Bill Hickman. “But our community is rising to the occasion. We threw this dinner together to help get the ball rolling.”

The dinner is spaghetti dinner being held at the Masonic Lodge in Sandy Lake on April 7 from 4-8 pm. Prices for the dinner are $10 for adults, $7 for seniors, $5 for students and children under 5 are free.

There will also be items there for a Chinese auction as well as a 50/50 raffle.  WesternPAFootball.net/PAFootballNews.com will  is  providing a Big 33 souvenir football signed by  NFL player Jon Condo. Jon spent 12 years in the NFL, playing for the Cowboys, Patriots and the Raiders.

Tickets are available at the door.

CALLING ALL SURROUNDING FOOTBALL TEAMS!  WE OFFER YOU A CHALLENGE!

In addition to the dinner, WPA/PFN will be sponsoring a pasta eating contest at 6pm!  Cost per contestant $5.  Teams of 5 will square off for a 5 minute, all the spaghetti you can eat challenge!  The winning team will receive WesternPAFootball.net T-Shirts as well as have their team be the featured team on our twitter pages for the month of August!  Teams may only consist of 3 lineman.  We want to see those skinny guys eatin!!  Coaches, bring your team, families and fans to help with a great cause and have some fun!   If you would like to enter the contest, please email me at football@westernpafootball.net.   We would certainly like to see representatives from other teams in the surrounding community!!
