McDowell’s Collin Christensen hauled in a 3rd & 10 touchdown reception from Corry’s Bryce Xander in the fourth quarter that led to the North’s victory in the 6th Annual NWPFCA North-South All-Star Game at Fairview High School.

The South squad which was led by Grove City’s Kameron Patterson at quarterback, connected with Sharon’s Dashawn Schaeffer with 1:34 remaining brought the South to within a point at 35-34.

Deciding to go for two and the win; Karns City’s running back Cullen Williams was stopped just short of the goal line by a host of North defenders.

Williams had a huge game for the South as rushed for a game-high 95 yards on just nine carries. His three and 69-yard touchdown runs gave the South 14-7 and tied the game 21-21in the first half.

Titusville’s Brady Corklin had a monster game as he was 8-of-12 passing for 95 yards with a pair of touchdowns, he also rushed for 47 yards on five attempts and caught three passes for 84 yards and a third score. His 31-yard touchdown from Xander opened the scoring putting the North in front 7-0.

Xander also had a big game for the North as he completed 16-of-32 passes for 276 yards and three touchdowns.

The South tied the game thanks to the Grove City connection as Patterson hit his Eagle teammate A.J Turner on an 82-yard touchdown tying the game at seven. Patterson and Turner later hooked again for the only score of the third quarter from 19 yards out.

Turner hauled in three passes for 120 yards and the two touchdowns while Patterson completed 12-of-22 passes for 217 yards and three scores.

It wasn’t just the Grove City connection that was working as Corry featured one as well; Brady Davis caught a 36-yard touchdown from Xander and also hauled in a 4-yard score from Corklin. Davis finished with five receptions for 69 yards and the touchdowns.

Christensen capped the first half scoring as he hauled in a 59-yard bomb down the near sideline from Corklin as the North took a 28-21 lead into halftime.

Christensen led all receivers with seven catches for 129 yards and two touchdowns.

The game was every bit as close as the final score indicated as the North held a 515 to 331 advantage in total offense while the South held a 6.8 to 6.7 yards-per-play average.
