Back when Protime was a teenager, the local sandlot football field needed mowed and it was Protime’s turn to manicure the ‘stadium.’  He borrowed Father Protime’s rickety old mower and began the chore of cutting a field about 50 yards long by 30 yards wide.  When he was close to halfway done, the mower ran out of gas.

Protime decided to finish the job by using Father Protime’s ancient reel mower.  You know the kind, the one that had the 5 blades that spun around as you pushed it.  Protime was down to the last few yards when the reel mower froze up and wouldn’t work anymore.

Protime ended up by using hand clippers he found in their garage. (That took a while!)   When the guys showed up to play a game the next day, they all commented that it looked as though Protime used 3 different mowers.  Protime just smiled and said, “let’s pick the teams.”

Last week found Protime doing well as he went 23-3.  His record for the year stands at 160-41 (.796).  And now the Proud Predictor reveals his prophesies for another week.

Tussey Mountain 7-1 @ Bellwood-Antis 7-1 – Protime was tempted to go see this one.  It should be a dandy.  The Titans clamor into Bellwood with a balanced offense.  QB Matt Leonard has 1,148 yards passing with 9 TDs.  WR extraordinaire, Brady Villa, hauled in 40 receptions for 576 yards and 7 scores to date.  RB Cole Weist has rambled for 904 yards and 8 TDs.  Damon Lemin heads up Tussey’s defense and kicker Havard Straumsheim is perfect on PATs.  The Blue Devils are led by QB Shaun Wolfe and his 827 yards passing plus 5 rushing TDs.  RB Alex Frederick has 10 touchdowns to his credit.  Nick Plank leads the B-A defense.  Protime is leaning toward the home team, 21-14.

Blackhawk 7-1 @ Beaver Falls 7-1 – Here’s another game Protime thought of going to watch.  The Cougars’ half back tandem of Kenny Gawley (8 TDs) and Marques Watson-Trent (9 TDs plus 4 more receiving) spell trouble for most defenses.  Speaking of defense, Kail Davidson is Blackhawk’s top gun.  Beaver Falls’ QB Dayln Brickner has 13 TD tosses and 7 on the ground (706 yards).  RB Josh Hought has scored 7 times running with the pigskin.  Gotta go with the Tigers in a close contest, 28-21.

Seneca Valley 6-2 @ Pine-Richland 7-1 – Huge match-up in Gibsonia Friday night.  Seneca’s defense has risen to the occasion many times this year, including holding NA to 10 points.  Gabe Lawson runs the Raider offense and has 9 TDs throwing.  P-R’s Cole Spencer just went over the 1,000-yard mark passing last week and RB Luke Meckler has scurried for 12 TDs.  Tyler King is a tackling machine on defense for the Rams.  Pine-Richland bests the Raiders in a competitive ball game, 24-20.

Slippery Rock 6-2 @ Oil City 7-1 – The Rockets spiral into Oiler land with QB Vito Pilosi at the helm.  Vito has thrown for 926 yards and 10 tallies.  When he’s not passing, he’s running as evidenced by his 626 yards and 9 scores.  RB Kaleb Kamerer has 701 yards and 10 TDs to his credit.  David Duffalo is the man on the Rocket defense.  Christian Cole.  That’s all you need to know about the Oiler offense.  Mr. Cole has incredibly run for 2,450 yards and a mind-boggling 34 touchdowns, which averages out to 13.7 yards per tote!!  Wouldn’t you know he is the leading tackler on the team too.  Amazing as it sounds, Protime is picking the Rockets to shoot by the Oilers in a high scoring affair, 48-41.

Brockway 6-2 @ Clarion 6-2 – Brockway has some guys who can light up the scoreboard.  QB Peter Downer has tossed the ball for 1,245 yards and 15 touchdowns.  Tyler Serafini leads all rushers with 840 yards.  Jon Wood has scored 9 TDs (2 rushing, 5 on pass receptions, and 2 kickoff returns).  Kicker Zane Puhala has made 7 FGs.  Clarion’s QB Archer Mills has over 1,000 yards passing with 13 scores.  WR Sam Minich leads the receivers with 602 yards and 10 TDs.  Cam Boggess is an anchor on the Bobcat ‘D’.  The Rovers take a bite out of the Bobcats and win this contest 27-24.

Bethel Park 5-2 @ Peters Township 6-2 – Bethel Park is 2 points from being undefeated.  Yes, both of their losses were by one point.  The Black Hawks play tough, hard-nosed football.  BP’s offense centers around their backs, Luke Surunis (683 yds.-9 TDs) and Jehvonn Lewis (10 TDs).  Peters is more balanced, though they like to chuck it with Logan Pfeuffer calling the shots.  He has 1,374 yards and 16 touchdowns pitching the ole pigskin.  WR Josh Casilli has 561 yards and 7 TDs snagging Pfeuffer’s throws.  RB Ryan Magiske has found the end zone 11 times.  Protime predicts the Black Hawks to fly out of Murraysville with the victory over the Indians 25-21.

Avonworth 7-1 @ McGuffey 7-1 – Avonworth has a phenomenal quarterback in Derek Johncour, who’s thrown for over 2,000 markers and 22 TDs.  WR Turner Grau has snabbed 50 passes for 754 yards and 12 scores.  RB Jax Miller chimes in with 13 TDs. Nick Weiser leads the Antelope defense.  QB Marshall Whipkey has 11 TD passes and 5 more rushing for the Highlanders.  RB Christian Clutter is a tough one to bring down with his 975 yards and 14 scores.  Protime is taking the visiting Antelopes to run away from the Highlanders 28-14.

Erie Cathedral Prep 5-2 @ Erie 2-5 – Cathedral Prep is led by Collin Johnson at QB with his 912 yards and 12 TDs.  He is only one of a few that has been behind center this year.  Billy Lucas has carried the agate for 878 yards and scored 11 times.  Jaheim Williams is one of the defensive stars for the Ramblers.  The Royals are led on the ground offensively by Jgannon Williams (661 yds.-5 TDs) and Danny Blue (620 yds.-6 TDs).  Defensively, it’s Brendyn Thurston.  Prep wins 35-20.

Southern Huntingdon 6-2 @ Claysburg-Kimmel 6-2 – For the Rockets, QB Scott Garlock has 11 touchdown passes and RB Eric Patton has 1,207 yards and 12 tallies.  Jordan Bailey leads S.H. in tackles and Mason Smith has 6 picks.  C-K’s quarterback, Corey Chamberlain, has thrown for 1,365 yards and 15 scores.  The Bulldogs top receiver is Zach Claycomb.  Their top running back and defensive player is Kobe Harr.  This game is going to be close, so the crystal ball is consulted and the winner is………………Southern Huntingdon 14-13.

Altoona 3-5 @ St. College 7-1 – Altoona has played some tough-luck games.  With some good fortune they could be 6-2.  Connor McCarthy is the signal-caller for the Mountain Lions and he can run or throw.  Connor Adams is his favorite target when he throws.  QB Tommy Friberg has 1,459 yards and 15 TDs for the S.C. Little Lions.  Keaton Ellis hauls in many of Friberg’s passes as he has scored 11 times.  Cohen Russell is the other main receiver.  RB Isaiah Edwards has crossed the goal line 7 times.  Tyson Brennan heads up the SC defense.  The Little Lions lay one on the Mountain Lions 35-17.

Franklin Regional 6-1 @ McKeesport 7-1 – QB Adam Rudzinski heads up the Panther offense with 1,068 yards and 14 scores throwing the ball.  His favorite wideouts are Nick Leopold (6 TD catches) and Mike Evans (5 TDs).  Justin Johns is FR’s premier tackler.  For McKeesport, Konota Gaskins barks the signals and has 10 TD passes with 8 TD runs.  The Tigers’ split end to watch is Devari Robinson.  RB Devin Sims has scored 10 TDs this year.  Mckeesport 37 Franklin Regional 24.

Ridgway/Johnsonburg 8-0 @ Brookville 5-3 – Protime will be live and in color at Brookville Friday night expecting a tremendous game.  Ridgway’s QB, Paul Gresco, has 943 yards and 11 TD passes to his credit.  The Elkers ground game has managed 21 TDs split among 7 different backs.  Robert Briggs has brought down the most ball carriers and Daunte Allegretto has picked off 7 passes for the stingy Elker ‘D’.  The Raiders are pass happy, having thrown for 2,671 yards and 35 touchdowns as a team.  Robert Keth is the QB at this point and has slung the ball for 1,501 yards and 18 scores.  Wideouts Cabe Park and Bryan Dworek both have 47 receptions.  Park has 1,111 yards and 16 TDs, while Dworek has 751 yards and 8 TDs.  Ridgway wants to stay unbeaten, but it will be hard.  Elkers win 33-28.
