Small School Team # 7 Sharpsville (10) 0-0

After three consecutive seasons of district championships won by Farrell, Sharpsville broke through and not only claimed a D10 crown – its sixth in program history and fifth since 1999 – the Blue Devils also rallied from down 20 points in the PIAA quarterfinals and reached the state semis for the third time in school history.

Sharpsville averaged an impressive 38.1 points per game, and veteran offensive lineman Cody Hughes is back to help front the Blue Devils’ offensive arsenal. Add to Hughes’ presence the return of Joey Flynn, who rushed for more than 500 yards and had more than 400 receiving yards and receiver Tyler Luchey, who caught 27 passes, and Sharpsville has a few experienced parts to build around. A third straight 10+-win season could be in the cards for the Blue Devils if the stars properly align.
