2016 Offensive outlook: (Please let us know the keys about your team on offense. What are your keys to having a successful year?)
The Rams should be explosive and balanced. Starting with dual threat QB Smith who returns all of top receivers from last season and is going into his second full season under a new offense this offense is ready to roll. Key question mark is whether Aaron Sheeder can step in at the running back position and give the offense a tough inside running game to keep defenses honest.
2016 Defensive Outlook: (Please let us know the keys about your team on defense. What are your keys to having a successful year?)
With all 11 starters returning, the defense is going to be called upon to dominate the opponent, especially with our style of offense. Staying healthy and using a lot of depth will be key for this defense. Need to bring younger players into the fold. Having a big, athletic Nose Guard (Jacob Neiderhiser 6’1 308) is key to keeping our linebackers free to make plays.
This is the best secondary that we have ever had and passing yards should be hard to come by this season.
2016 Special Teams Outlook: (Please let us know the keys about your team on special teams. What are your keys to having a successful year?)
We need to replace long snapper, Tyler Turcheck who was lost to graduation.
Kicker – Kobe Short is returning.
Punter – Jackson Daugherty is returning
Holder – Trent Stewart is returning.
Team must improve kickoff coverage, which should be taken over by young players wanting to make their mark on the program.
Long snapper development is a key.
