They’re sayin he put “City Ball” back on the map. “He” is Westinghouse defensive end Dayon Hayes. He sneaked onto the college offers scene way back in November of 2o18 with an offer from Howard University for collecting 26 sacks and 10 forced fumbles during the 2018 season at Westinghouse. What’s even more impressive about Dayon is he has to balance school, football and work. He has a job at Wendys. “That keeps you busy for sure” said the Pitt commit.
Then in January things heated up, schools like Toledo and Ball St. offered, then his fourth offer came from his backyard favorite, Pitt, in early February. That seemed to open the flood gates to all sorts of high profile offers. Syracuse, Ohio St, Penn St, Nebraska and more came calling for the talented Bulldog, but he kept that Pitt offer in his back pocket. Over the weekend, while on an official visit with Pitt, he pulled that offer out of his back pocket and laid it on the table for Coach Narduzzi and staff. The 6-3, 240 pound Hayes committed to Pitt. He made his announcement via twitter:
